Origins Yoga is a small, home-based yoga studio in Allentown, New Jersey, run by me, Matt Poles. I take your privacy seriously and keep it simple. This page explains what information I collect when you use originsyoga.com, why I collect it, and what you can do about it.
What I collect
- Your name and email address, when you book a class, buy a pass or membership, or contact me.
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it, so I can reach you about class changes.
- Booking details, such as which classes you've booked, attended, or canceled, and which pass or membership you have.
- Payment information. Payments are handled securely by Wix and its payment partners. I never see or store your full card number.
- Health or injury notes, only if you choose to share them, so I can keep you safe in class.
- Mailing list signup, if you choose to join it.
- Basic website data, such as cookies and general usage information collected automatically by Wix, which hosts this site, to keep the site working and understand how it's used.
Why I collect it and how I use it
- To book you into classes and livestreams, and to send confirmations, reminders, and livestream links.
- To process payments and manage your pass or membership, including monthly autopay if you have one.
- To let you know about schedule changes or cancellations.
- To keep you safe in class, using any health notes you share.
- To send occasional studio news and offers, only if you've joined the mailing list. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To keep basic records my business needs, such as payment and tax records.
What I don't do
I never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I only share it with the services that help me run the studio, such as Wix (website, bookings, and payments), my email provider, and the video platform I use for livestreams. I share only what those services need to do their job. I may also share information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
I keep your information while you're an active student, and afterward only as long as I need it for records, taxes, or legal reasons.
Your choices
- You can ask to see the information I have about you.
- You can ask me to correct it or delete it. I'll do that unless I have to keep something for legal or tax reasons, and I'll tell you if that's the case.
- You can unsubscribe from studio emails at any time using the link in any email, or by asking me.

Keeping it safe
I rely on Wix's security for the website, bookings, and payments, and I keep any studio records private. No system is perfect, but I take reasonable care to protect your information.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I update this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new date.
